Description: This training is required for sober house operators in order to become a certified sober home in Massachusetts. This training covers essential information for operating a sober house according to the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing (MASH) standards. Participants are engaged in an interactive overview of basic operations of sober housing, specific standards, leadership qualities, and ethical parameters.
Registration begins at 8:30am.
Please note there will be no food provided on site. You will have a 1 hour lunch break to go off site and get something to eat.
This training is interactive and requires your full participation! We hold the right and discretion to hold back certificates of attendance if we find you are not fully participating.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of the training participants will:
- Understand the role and functions of sober housing, the support they provide, the individuals they serve, and their place in the continuum of recovery support services.
- Have the information needed to compile a policy & procedure manual that corresponds to the MASH standards.
- Recognize and understand how to implement the best practices of safe and healthy sober houses that promote long term recovery in the local community.
